Periods! Most of you reading this probably get them. So why is it that they are rarely ever talked about? Just like mental health, there's a whole stigma around periods and feminine hygiene, but we're here to break down those barriers! If we all were to open up about these topics a little more we could all help us navigate this life a little better. So I'm starting here on the blog and sharing a few tips for how I feel my absolute best during my worst week of the month. Don't worry though, we won't get too TMI here today, just a little bit of girl talk!
1. Stay Hydrated
Drinking water throughout the week is my baseline for feeling somewhat normal when Aunt Flo is visiting. It keeps me from breaking out from excess stress and hormones, and even makes me feel less bloated and "blah" throughout the day. If you're not so great at hydrating, try to at least set your goal for drinking a full glass of water before each meal!

2. Use Summer's Eve FreshCycle Products For Extra Freshness
Summer's Eve has been around since 1972, but continues to focus on the ever-changing needs of women and what they need to feel fresh every day. Their new FreshCycle line is all about, you guessed it, feeling your best while on your period. The line has three great products to help you feel amazing: No-Rinse Cleansing Foam, the Cleansing Cloths Soft Pack, and the Individually Wrapped Cleansing Cloths.
All of these products are made with a patented odor-reducing ingredient without dyes, alcohol, or parabens. The No-Rinse Cleansing Foam is perfect when you're feeling a little off during your period and want to feel fresh again. It can be applied directly to toilet paper for convenient use at home and is specifically made for use during your menstrual cycle. Just add a few pumps to your toilet paper and you're good to go, no need to rinse when you're finished!
The Cleansing Cloths Soft Pack is also perfect for home use and are actually flushable. These cloths (in both the soft pack and individually wrapped packages) are formulated for the most intimate parts, are balanced to a woman's natural pH and are gynecologist tested for everyday use. I like to keep the individual cloths in my gym bag or in my purse just in case I'm on the go and need a little freshening up!

3. Try To Stay Active
I know it can seem like the worst idea in the world to even move on your period let alone get a workout in, but trust me on this one! It will actually make you feel better if you get up and try to stay at least a little active. I recommend doing some yoga, maybe a nice long walk, and some good stretching. It will (hopefully!) ease cramps a bit and make you feel overall a little bit better. You can always do something more strenuous, but I personally like to stick to light exercise!
4. Utilize Heat!
Oh my love for heating pads, hot water bottles, and other heated items is SO REAL. I am always always always using some type of heating device when I'm on my period. It's perfect for when I have cramps and overall just relaxes my muscles when they feel sore. Does anyone else just feel sore all over on their period?
5. Dress For How You Want To Feel
It can be extremely tempting to stay in pajamas or sweatpants all day when you don't feel your best, but I dare you to put on an outfit you love and say that you don't feel better. When you're in a look you love and makes you feel good about yourself, that feeling is likely to have some impact on your overall wellbeing, which can be a great mood booster when you're on your period!
How do you feel your best when it's your time of the month? Have you used Summer's Eve products before?
