My third holiday gift guide of the season is all about BEAUTY! I'm a huge makeup and skincare fanatic, so this is one of my favorite guides to set up. As a blogger I'm lucky enough to try out a ton of different beauty items which means I have a lot of opinions and want to share them all with you! In this gift guide I'll be sharing a bunch of my personal favorites, some items that are on my Christmas wish list, plus some items that are staples for your beauty arsenal. Just like my other guides I'll only be sharing details about some of the items, but that doesn't mean the products I don't personally mention aren't great! As always I only include things I would be happy to use myself!

Seattle Apartment Bedroom Tour

by The Classic Brunette, 3:01:00 PM
It's been a long while since sharing my first look at my Seattle apartment living room, so I thought today would be the perfect time to share another room! My bedroom is probably my favorite spot in the apartment, mostly because it's just so 'me.' Not too much has changed decor wise since moving from Orange County, but I thought it was worth the share anyhow. I love how cozy and glam my bedroom feels, and it's the perfect place to get some natural light and brainstorm for the blog. I still think I need a little "something" for the room, but I can't quite put my finger on it yet, if you have a suggestion let me know in the comments! P.S. You'll be able to shop everything in my room at the end of the post ! :)

Gift Guide: Stocking Stuffers Under $25

by The Classic Brunette, 12:07:00 AM

Say hello to gift guide #2 of the season: stocking stuffers! This can also just be a guide for gifts under $25, although most are WAY under that. I strive to make most of my gift guides affordable, because we never just purchase one gift during the holiday season. Budgeting is how I get through the holiday season, and I'm sure so many of you are the same way! I didn't feature many beauty items here (just a few key ones!) since I'll be doing a whole beauty gift guide in a few days, but I know that beauty items are a popular stocking stuffer. I just beg you to wait until I share all my faves before you make your final choices there. Until then, here are a few details about my favorite products from this guide!

Profusion Cosmetics Confidence Palette Review + Swatches

by The Classic Brunette, 11:00:00 PM
*This post contains affiliate links, product provided for review by Profusion*

The holiday makeup is finally starting to get released and you could say I'm a bit thrilled by it. With the holidays comes glitters, metallics, and all the fun shades you might not see everywhere (I'm talking reds and greens here!) One of the things that I love about this time of year is that more affordable brands also release new items, and I'm here to share one of my favorite palettes that you can pick up from Target for ONLY $10! The Profusion Confidence palette will be getting so much use this holiday season purely because of the wide range of glittery/metallic shades. Although I love a great matte shadow, I always tend to gravitate towards the more "fun" eyeshadow looks AKA lots of glitter, haha! Keep reading to see why I love this palette plus swatches of each of the shadows!
Shades Top To Bottom: Winning, Mascot, Likeable, Supple, Coin, Benefit, Legendary

Normally I'm a little weary of some cheaper eyeshadow palettes. Ones I've tried in the past had a lot of fallout (especially with those glitter shadows that I love so much), weren't very pigmented, or didn't have that long of a lasting power. I have to say I've been incredibly impressed with all the Profusion products I've tried, particularly with the pigmentation! With one swipe you get an incredible amount of color, something that you can't say about a good amount of palettes unless you spend a hefty amount of money, or at least $30 nowadays.

This palette comes with 21 different shades with a variety of finishes including matte, glitter, and metallic. However you could combine the two last finishes as many of the metallic shades are somewhat glittery as well. The Confidence palette also comes with a dual-headed brush for application. Although I haven't used it yet it looks identical to the brushes that have come in other Profusion palettes which I have used and liked. They aren't the most high quality brushes, however they get the job done and are perfect for travel!

Each shade is noticeably different from the next, which is great with a palette that has a large variety. Sometimes I get annoyed as I buy a palette with different looking shades that turn out to all look the same. I've tried to keep the colors of the shadows as original as I could with the editing, although some have obviously been changed a bit just for brightening purposes to match the rest of the image. The shades above are from the first line of shadows and I would say these are the most 'natural' of the shades. The only two that have a similar look are 'Likeable' and 'Benefit' but in real life the latter is slightly darker and has a little more yellow tone to it. I'm obsessed with the 'Coin' shade, a beautiful gold with slight copper undertones. It would be perfect for any metallic gold look! Another shade that might be my favorite in the whole palette is 'Legendary.' It was hard to capture in the photo, but this shade is a metallic green with brown undertones. It's great if you want to go the way of a green holiday look without going full out like you might for St.Patricks day. The brown undertone keeps it more in the neutral shade category, and when you catch the light the green shines through!

Shades Top To Bottom: Serendipity, Dynasty, Chameleon, Secure, Empire, Bite, Madly

These middle shades in the Confidence palette are all fun bright shades on the red, orange, and yellow spectrum. I LOVE how buttery all the shades in this palette are, and was so excited to see that that softness carried out to each of the finishes. These shades above are so stunning in person, and I'm glad it carried over in the photos! All of the shadows are crazy pigmented, bright, and colorful. I've found it hard to come across decent orange and yellow shades but these do not disappoint. I can think of so many ways to use these not just during the holidays, but during the summer months as well.

'Bite' would have to be my favorite out of this group. It's the perfect metallic red with just the slightest hint of purple/maroon. I've been really into using red and pink shadows lately and I can't wait to incorporate this one into my looks!

Shades Top To Bottom: Sunny, Power Up, Backlash, Valient, Switch, Fireside, Bombshell

These shades are much more toned down than the middle shadows, however a lot of them are still in the orange color range. 'Backlash' is my favorite of these since it's a beautiful brown metallic with some gold undertones. It can be used as an everyday color but if you dress it up a little with fake lashes and some liner you can create a fantastic holiday look with it.

I'm such a huge fan of this palette that I just had to share with you guys, and I hope if you purchase you fall in love with it too! These shades are all so soft, blendable, and create incredibly pigmented looks that last. Would y'all be interested in a makeup tutorial featuring this palette or just a holiday makeup look in general? I'm thinking about incorporating more beauty looks into the blog, however I want to gauge interest from all of you! Let me know in the comments!

EDIT: I can no longer find this palette online, so all links have been changed to Profusion's Mirage Palette which has many of the same shades! :)

I think I say this practically every week, but it's CRAZY how fast time is flying by! Honestly, how am I already writing my first gift guide of the season. I wanted to start off with a guide that was super affordable and easily accessible, so of course I went with Amazon! I have to admit, I was never the biggest user of Amazon until very recently. For years I only used it for textbooks or other school supplies. I didn't even have my own account, I would have my sister place orders for me! But since living in Seattle with Amazon headquarters right around the corner from me I figured it was time to actually give the site a go. Unfortunately it's too good of a site because I find way too many things that I want on there! Luckily, they have some of the best prices around so I never feel all that bad when my cart gets a little too full 😉. For this guide I focused on gifts for her under $50, with most being under $30! There are some home items, some fashion, some beauty, and my favorite...designer dupes!

How To Add Personal Touches To Your Home

by The Classic Brunette, 12:01:00 AM

You guys have been ALL ABOUT my home decor on Instagram (seriously, those posts are some of my most liked!) so I thought I would share my favorite way to add some personal flair to your home or apartment. Of course I have a ton of non-personalized decor, but nothing makes a house, apartment, or even a dorm room feel like home than a couple of unique touches that represent you and your personality. Here are a few of the ways I do this in my place.
