From top to bottom: Pink Sand, Bodysurf, Sunlit, Scuba Dive, Yacht Week, and Ocean Floor (All c/o) |

Before being sent these shades I had been eyeing them in Sephora for a while. Am I the only one that stalks makeup before committing to purchase? I went in to the store, swatched the colors, became obsessed with the colors, and then told myself that I had to wait to buy these until I moved so it would be one less thing to pack. But here I am with all these shades and I'm still just as obsessed (and so happy that I have them!) Each shade is either a metallic, glitter, or duochrome finish. Let me tell you that these lipsticks can be described with one word: BEAUTIFUL. Honestly, they are just the most gorgeous and unique lip shades I've tried, and the color shift creates such an interesting look. If you look at my Instagram stories later today you can see the shade shifting in action!
Since I own a few other shades from the original Color Splash line, I know how moisturizing the formula is and was pleasantly surprised that these shades also have that hydrating effect! One thing that I talk about a lot here on the blog is my dry skin and lips, but these are one of the lipsticks that I love to use and have no issues with. (And I don't have to wear chapstick at the same time!)
Another thing that I always look for in a good lipstick is the pigmentation. These definitely show a great amount of color and shimmer with one swipe. It's up to you how much color you want to wear though, because you can build up the amount of pigment with more applications. For the swatches above I did about 3 swipes for each color (4 for Scuba Dive) just for reference! The Color Splash collection has a very smooth application, something that's also important for me when I look for new lipsticks. Since they're so smooth, these shade shifting colors are also great for adding as a topper to a lipstick shade you already own. I tried out Sunlit (gold iridescent) over a red lipstick I already had and loved the shimmer effect it gave! I'm so excited to find other ways to play with these lipsticks!
Have you tried these shades? What about the original Color Splash collection?

Love Tarte! Will definitely have to try some of these lipsticks, especially since you mentioned that they don't dry out your lips...I hate when that happens!
