San Diego Safari Park Travel Guide

by The Classic Brunette, 12:14:00 AM

A week ago I was fortunate enough to drive down to the San Diego Safari Park! My weekend was super packed (this little excursion, a 5K and then a spontaneous trip to Disneyland) but I have to say that this was my favorite activity! I had been wanting to visit the Safari Park for a while, especially after finding out that I could feed giraffes, and so it went on the Orange County bucket list. My roommate and I are trying to fit everything in while we're hear this last month, so when she got the day off we decided we were going to go! Here's my mini travel guide for the park, although it's more of a tips and tricks guide to making the most of your visit here.

How To Successfully Pitch Brands As A Blogger

Happy Thursday everyone, sorry for the delay in posting! My internet has been all sorts of crazy these past few days, so unfortunately that meant things aren't going up on time! But, I think this post is worth the wait, especially for all you fellow bloggers out there! As you know, working as a full time blogger requires a steady stream of work. It's always great to have brands reaching out for sponsored work, however that's definitely not always the case. If I left everything up to the brands side of things, I would probably (read: definitely) be out of a job! I know that working with brands is something many bloggers aspire to do, and if you've already implemented the things that make brands want to work with you then it's time to start collaborating! I'm sharing my best tips on how to pitch yourself, plus my #1 source for learning how to successfully start partnerships.

Shopping Your Own Closet

Hello hello friends! Today I'm here to talk about something that you don't always find on fashion blogs...your own closet and re-wearing your own favorite items. Most style blogs, my own included, regularly share new clothes that are trendy, classic, or just hitting stores to give you some fashion and shopping inspiration. The tough thing about this job is definitely trying to keep up with the joneses and purchase every new trend that crops up. Even tougher is when your bank account does not allow that. This isn't realistic for many bloggers, let alone any of you reading here!

Tarte Color Splash Shade Shifting Lipstick Review

Happy Monday, everyone! I hope you all had a fantastic weekend! I was busy busy busy this past week preparing for a huge garage sale between my roommates and I to help start the moving process (I move in about a month!) and then spent all day Saturday and Sunday working and selling. If you've ever had a garage sale you know how much work they can be! So glad to finally be rid of some stuff that I've collected over the years, although I have already picked up some new items in their places...including this new line of lipsticks from Tarte! As you know Tarte is one of my favorite beauty brands, and their Rainforest of the Sea line is one of the lines I use practically every day. Well, they recently came out with a few new shades of their Color Splash lipsticks, this time in fun shade shifting colors! I was lucky enough to work with the brand on Instagram and was provided these lipsticks, however I wanted to be sure I did a full review of them on the blog as well.

Mothers Day Gift Ideas

I know Mother's Day isn't for another month or so, but it never hurts to start planning ahead! Plus, this gives you plenty of time to get ahead of the curve without stressing if your present will arrive on time. This year will definitely be different since my mom isn't around, but that doesn't mean I can't celebrate my favorite mom figures in my life. (I'm looking at you Leslie and Veronica!) My mom was the biggest supporter of my blog, so even though I don't have her around for her holiday I know she's with me every time I write and would encourage me to share my Mother's Day thoughts and gifts with you!

I've gathered a few of my favorite gift ideas above, but also wanted to share another option for those of you who love supporting small businesses! I recently came across the subscription service called Le Decor Box. They are launching this month (!!!) and have the cutest items inside. Emily, the owner is so kind and curates each box with fun, festive, and beautiful products each month that are perfect for decorating your home. LDB is a $55 monthly subscription box service that provides 6-8 decor items that are themed by holiday or season. I think it's the perfect gift for the mom that loves to add a touch of fun to her home or office space. Below is the May box and all the goodies inside!

My favorite items are the glitter garland and the heart shaped wine stopper! You all know I'm a sucker for anything and everything gold, so everything in the box is going to look perfect in my place. I'm excited to hang the garland in my new living room when I move! Are you looking forward to Mother's Day?
