Happy 4th of July, everyone!! I never really do much for the holiday, but this year I'm headed to my aunt and uncle's house for some good ol' American Barbeque, and most likely some delicious filipino food because my aunt makes the best lumpia around. I wish I had some kind of red accessory to go with this outfit (where are my old red cowboy boots when I need them!), but alas the amount of red clothing and accessories in my closet are sadly lacking.
I got most of this outfit from Marshalls, and that's because I probably stop in there at least once a week while at school. The one by my house isn't as nice, so when I'm home for the summer I don't get to indulge on the great prices! Not sponsored by the way, I just love that place, haha. I found this white halter top there a few weeks ago and decided it was perfect for both casual and workwear depending on how I styled it! I'm all about finding pieces that can work for multiple settings, so it's always a plus when something cute can fit into my business casual wardrobe!
Something that doesn't fit into that business wardrobe though are these distressed boyfriend jeans. I got these months ago and I've been basically living in them since! Seriously, I don't know how they're so comfortable, maybe it's the fact that they're boyfriend style so I can have that extra starbucks and still have some wiggle room or maybe it's the fact that they are only button close (no zipper, I thought it was weird at first too...), but either way I love these jeans. Highly recommend them if you can find them at your local American Eagle. I can't seem to find them online anymore!
This weekend has been a great and much needed break from my work week! As y'all know I started a new job a couple weeks ago and I have such long work days. I work 8-5 and it's essentially non-stop typing numbers into the computer and waiting for reports to load. Luckily my coworkers are very nice and friendly, and they let me use my phone while reports load, but my work is either extremely tedious or extremely boring. There have been days that I had to load about 8 reports and it took ALL. DAY. LONG. That's a lot of time to stare at a computer or phone screen.
So my weekends have been my saving grace, and I am practically always counting down the hours until my time off! This three day weekend was especially great though, 1) because of the holiday and 2) my best friend Steph was visiting, so I got to hang out with her!
I'm so excited for all the celebrations happening today, and for the great food and company I'll have! But I'm most excited to watch all the fireworks!
What's your favorite part of the holiday?
