Mother's Day Gift Guide

Happy Monday everyone, Mother's Day is less than a week away! Unfortunately I won't be able to be with my mom on the special day since I'll still be in school, but for those of you that will make sure to make the best of it! You really don't know how much you love your parents until you can't see them all the time, seriously I'm only a few hours away (well 9, but still) and I miss them all the time.

Mother's Day has always been pretty special ever since back in preschool and kindergarden where our school invited all the mothers to come spend time with us as we made them paper hats, I'll be the first one to admit that these hats were pretty horrendous, but my mom wore hers like a champ.

I graduated from making paper hats to my elementary school's "Muffins with Mom" day where we would all spend the first hour of school on Mother's Day eating mini muffins. We have photo albums for practically every year of my childhood, and the ones where I was in first and second grade I can guarantee you will find at least five pictures of me smiling excitedly with my mom and sister or cheerfully stuffing a muffin in my mouth. (And if you flip a few pages forward you'll find similar pictures but at "Donuts with Dad" for Father's Day!)

Although my college doesn't have any fun Mother's Day themed events, (But imagine how fun that would be, I'm picturing "Mimosas with Mom" or "Molten Lava Cakes with Mom" or both to really excite mothers and daughters. ;) ) I still like to celebrate with my mom as best as I can. Normally this means sending her a morning "Happy Mother's Day!" text and then skyping with her and my dad later that day. It's not much, but it's all I can really do when I'm not actually with her! Of course I'll give her something too, but she normally ends up getting it after school gets out. This year though, she may not get anything if she doesn't decide on what she wants! Mom if you're reading this think of something! :)

I've put together a few things that I think moms will enjoy, but here are a few other things that I didn't add to the collage that would be great gifts: A "book" of certificates for doing chores, spending quality time, cooking, etc. for your mom to use at any time, a mother daughter spa day, a book from her favorite author, flowers, mani/pedi with your mom, an edible arrangement, matching pajamas.

What's the best gift you've given your mom for Mother's Day?

  1. I have such a soft spot for Fresh Sugar lip balms, can't get enough of those! Best gift for Mother's Day, hands down though is a night away from my family at a nice hotel. I love them dearly, but nothing beats room service, and a clean and quiet room!

  2. These are all great gift ideas for my mom. Thanks for sharing :)

  3. That Kate Spade Wallet and the pink blender are lovely! Perfect for my mom...or myself! Joking! Great gift guide!
