Full Skirts for Spring

Lately I've been noticing a new trend that I love: full skirts! Now, I haven't necessarily found one that looks good on me yet, (my legs always look like stumps coming out from underneath) but that doesn't mean I'm going to stop the hunt!

I know the full skirt trend has been around for a while, but I think spring is the season where it fits the best. They're flirty, fun, and most of the ones I've seen are brightly colored! Perfect for the changing seasons and transitioning to warmer weather. Here are a few outfits I've put together with some of these adorable full skirts. My favorite is definitely the 'sweet' option!

The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt

Normally I wouldn't talk about a TV show here on the blog, but I just had to mention The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.

I can definitely say that this is now one of my favorite shows, and I may have watched the whole season in less than a week...

The jokes are smart, but hilarious, and Ellie Kemper (Kimmy) acts her part so well. The main premise of the show is that a group of women, including Kimmy, were kept underground in a secret cult for 15 years. After being rescued, Kimmy decides that she wants to move to New York City and start the life that she missed out on. She deals with ordinary activities, but since she essentially doesn't know how the modern world works, she struggles a lot.

It's co-created and written by Tina Fey, so when the internet and everyone I know blew up about it I had to watch it. I'm going to be one of those people that insists you watch this show!

Style Watch: Katey McFarlan from Chronicles of Frivolity

I've always been a big fan of Katey and her blog Chronicles of Frivolity. She was a big inspiration for why I started my blog, and I continue to read her posts daily! Her style is so eclectic and chic, and something you don't see all the time. Plus her and her new fiancĂ© are practically the cutest couple around!

I think Katey is such a beautiful person inside and out, and I admire everything she's accomplished. Take a second and go check out her blog if you haven't already!

Bedroom Inspiration

I'm so excited to finally say that I have a place to live next year for school! I'll be getting my own bedroom and I'm just dying to start the decorating process. I can officially start moving things over in April, but for now I have to pin everything that seems doable on Pinterest. Even though I'm already redoing my room at my actual house (more to come on that topic towards spring break/summer/whenever I get the time to take pictures of it), the plans for my college bedroom are different.

I wanted to show you guys a few things that have been my inspiration for the upcoming decorating explosion that's about to happen (but if you follow me on Pinterest, you've probably already had enough of it haha). So here's what I've been looking at!

This is the rough color scheme: navy, blush pink, gold, and white. However, we can't change the room's paint colors which are tan and blue, but I can make it work....somehow.

If I was living the dream this would be my bedroom. But alas, I am not. Plus, I'm only living here for two years (maybe) and I know this furniture is too expensive for that short of a time period. But isn't it beautiful?

Another, less expensive for sure, bed option. I might attempt to mix the two bedding looks and see what happens with that. I really love the idea of white bedding and bright accent pillows!

I love the short but open cabinets, and I really want to attempt a gallery wall. My roommates and I have already agreed that we want one in our living room, but I really want one in my bedroom too. I think it adds a little extra something to the atmosphere of the room.

Another option that I'm thinking about is having a mirror over the storage space/drawers. I am absolutely in love with this one, but I think I'll have to settle with finding one cheap on craigslist and maybe starting a DIY project to make the frame gold.

I'm not exactly sure how I want to do my side table, but I do like the idea of having either one large one or two small ones at either side. Still undecided, and it will probably come down to whichever one I see first at the store. Also I like the one in the picture because it has an added shelf underneath.

MY DESK. I have big plans for my desk. My plans may come crashing down if I end up getting my sister's desk from her room right now (it's dark brown wood), but I want a white desk with lots of gold accessories. I just think that a white desk looks so clean and bright, and it will help me to de-clutter everything in my workspace. Hopefully I can snag a cheap one from Ikea, but we shall see.

I'm way too excited to decorate this room, and if you like any of these you'll most likely enjoy the Pinterest board that I've dedicated just to this bedroom. I would love to know you're thoughts!

Inspiration Nation

No matter how lame this post title sounds, it's good to get some inspiration every once in a while. If you follow me on Pinterest, you'll see that I may have been going a little crazy with my quotes board...so here are a few that I really loved! Some of these can relate to blogging, but they all reflect how I feel about life right now, and I hope they give you a little inspiration.

Spring Break Ready

Spring is just around the corner, and in the next few weeks, everyone will be off on mini-vacations for the oh so coveted spring break. To help you get ready, I've come up with some things that you'll need and a few tips.

Tip #1 SUN BLOCK

Please be safe about your skin. If you're going somewhere warm and sunny, use sunscreen! I know, I know, having a tan is very important (If you can achieve it, because lord know's I'll never get darker than 'ivory') but so is making sure that your skin is healthy. You don't have to sit in the sun and bake all day to get a nice tan! In the past I've used Jergen's Natural Glow and have seen great results, and I have a friend who swears by it year round. Give it a try! For those who don't want to tan, but still want to keep safe, I highly recommend Neutrogena's Ultra Sheer Sunscreen.

Tip #2 Be Classy, Not Trashy

I'll keep this one short and sweet: Don't be the girl you hear crazy stories about. You know the one. The girl who drinks herself silly and doesn't know how to handle herself. Just don't be like those girls from Spring Breakers.

Tip #3 Have fun!

Duh, spring break is supposed to be a great time that you can relax from school (if you're lucky enough not to get homework...) and hang out with friends and family. Put school on the back burner and just enjoy the week.

Things You'll Need:

A Killer Swim Suit

Of course, my dream would be to own this one from Kate Spade, but Target also has a lovely collection of swim suits that just hit stores like this one below! Looks like Kate Spade, but for much, much cheaper.

The Perfect Sunglasses

Pick up a pair of my favorite sunglasses here! They're cheap, but they're so amazing.

THE Spring Break Outfit

I always want my spring break outfits to be as bright and fun as possible, and I love this romper for doing just that! My go to outfits for break normally include rompers, sundresses, and bright tank tops with shorts.

Hope you guys have a wonderful spring break! When it's over I would love to hear about it!
