Colorful Donut Nail Art Tutorial

I absolutely love doing nail tutorials for you guys. I know that I'm no professional, but I think that just makes it easier on all of you who are just like me! Sometimes I see photos on nail art instagrams and I really want to do something, but it just seems way too difficult! The nails on this post may actually seem difficult, but honestly they were some of the easiest I've done, even if you're a beginner you can accomplish these!

Start off with a base of white nails.

Then with a toothpick, use a light tan color to make donut shapes (I put them in different spots so it wasn't all the same design).

Next add the "frosting" colors that you want onto each donut. I used a dark brown, white, and pink, but you can really use any color that you want. Again, do this with a toothpick!

Add sprinkles/extra frosting zig zags in various colors!

Very simple and easy to do! Make sure between each step you let the polish dry completely. You don't want things to start smudging and make you start all over! This was my first attempt at using toothpicks to do nail art, and it's amazing. It feels like you're just holding and writing with a pencil.

A close-up of the final product!

Hope you guys enjoyed this tutorial! Tag #theclassicbrunette on Instagram and Twitter if you recreate this, I'd love to see them!

  4. I love this nail art, it looks amazing and seems fairly simple to actually do! One of my goals is to try more nail art once I've finished my degree this year and I have a bit more spare time

  7. Yup it's on my instagram! I'm definitely guilty of posting the same thing on basically all forms of social media haha. And yes try it! It's not that hard to do and looks way more difficult than it actually is.

  9. That's such a sweet comment, thank you! :) I really try to make it known that I'm not perfect at this kind of stuff and want to do things that essentially everyone can follow along with.

  10. I totally get that Sami, as a blogger myself, I get plenty of comments from other Mums that they like my photos are so real and authentic vs feeling like they can't possibly obtain the same look. That's important to me as my blog strives to inspire other mums to just have fun with fashion and style and not feel intimidated or that they need to stick to fashion rules. Whatever makes you feel good!
