I love New Years. Everyone is still in the holiday spirit, I can see my birthday on the horizon, and most people seem to be in a great mood. I'm not a huge believer in resolutions, at least for myself since I tend to break them, but I am a believer in setting goals for myself. I've learned in years past that if I push myself to keep up with my goals for at least a month, I'll stick with it.
One // Blog more consistently
Since starting my blog, I've pretty much been all over the place with when I blog. During the summer I tried to post once a day, but once school started that wasn't an option. Then I was posting sporadically, and would forget for a couple days. More recently, I've been blogging around every 3 days, and that schedule has been treating me nicely. I have some amazing things coming up for 2015, and my hope is to share them with you as they're happening, not weeks after they're over.
Two // Explore Often
Whether this mean traveling abroad, or just locally, I want to see what's out there. It seems like such a waste to have access to such a wonderful world and not see what I can. Although financially I'm not at the best place for it, I can definitely make time for trips to Los Angeles or San Francisco and explore the spots I haven't visited. I traveled a little in 2014 (Lake Tahoe, San Diego), I want to make more of an effort to get outside my local bubble.
Three // Chose Healthy Options
Not necessarily limiting this one to eating habits, this goal is for a lifestyle change. I pledge to take the stairs more often, order water with my meal instead of soda. "Little by little, a little becomes a lot." I'm choosing to make a healthier me, and anything that comes with these choices is just a bonus.
Four // Try New Things
More specifically food. I'm known as the horribly picky eater to everyone who knows me, and I want that to change. I feel as though this will be my most challenging goal as I've tried to expand my food choices in the past, and it always ends in failure. This year I want to start out very slow, and eat things that are out of my comfort zone, but not put myself in a situation that makes me extremely uncomfortable.
Five // Make More 'Me' Time
Sometimes I get so caught up with everything going on around me, school, family, friends, sorority, I forget about myself. I need to make time for my physical therapy exercises, my sleep schedule, my alone time, and anything else that helps me stay relaxed.
