Differences

After finishing my first semester of sophomore year, I have noticed things about college that seem different than last year. Of course as time goes by things will almost certainly change, but I've already begun to see how freshman year is a lot different than the rest of the college years.

The most dramatic change is that I feel more comfortable. This comfort stems from all sorts of areas, not just physical comfort at the school I'm at. I feel a lot more at ease, there is less tension within myself, and I have confidence in the decisions that I make. Chapman is now a very familiar place, and sometimes I even catch myself calling it home. I feel like I'm really part of the community, especially since I joined a sorority. The majority of the school is in greek life, and since I've joined it, I feel like I know more people and see the school in a different way. Not that I'm advocating greek life, but in some cases, like my own, it establishes a connection that I wouldn't otherwise have made.

Another realization that I've had is that I'm an adult. Yes, I know, it sounds ridiculous. When I turned 18 my friends and I all laughed and joked about me being an old lady and actually being seen as an adult. It never quite hit me though until this year. Freshman year I was on a meal plan, was watched over by professors and RA's, and everyone at the school looked to my class as the babies. Now, I do my own grocery shopping, I make my own phone calls, I cook, I clean, it's like I run my own mini household in my apartment! In a month I turn twenty, and I've only just begun to realize that my teenage years are gone, and surprisingly, I'm okay with it.

I've learned that friends may choose different paths than you choose, and sometimes you will travel with them, and others you may not. It's okay to say goodbye to the friends you no longer connect with. In many cases, the transition from high school to college is where you lose friends, and I didn't realize it happens from freshman year to sophomore year too. You start to realize what you want, and surround yourself with people who support that. I'm extremely lucky that I've got friends from high school that I still talk to and freshman year friends that have stuck by my side. Some friendships remain strong, and others dissolve, but it doesn't mean that anyone did anything wrong. It means you decided to live your own lives.

I feel like this semester has taught me so much about myself, even if nothing particularly extraordinary happened. Making my own decisions, and learning to do things on my own has taught me that you have to become your own person. College is a time for transitions and changes, and although it might be scary at first, everything is going to be fine.

Holiday Hiatus

Hello everyone! I hope you all are having a wonderful start to your winter breaks, and if you just got done with finals, I wish you the best of luck with your grades coming in! My tests were definitely were on the difficult side, but I'm hoping all my work pays off.

I've decided to take a short break from blogging while spending time with my family. Of course, if I think of something I want to share, I'll write something up, but for the most part I will be gone until the beginning of January. I will still be around via Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest. I wish you all a great holiday season!!

Acts of Kindness

A lot of boring things happen in airports: waiting, sitting, sleeping, more waiting, but a lot of interesting things happen there too. While I was waiting for my flight to begin boarding to go back to school, the flight attendants were calling out names of those who were on the flight's waiting list. There was a couple and both of their names were on the list, and when the man's name was called he told his girlfriend that he couldn't take the seat knowing that she would be left behind. He told her to take his spot and go see her family. The woman had a similar thought and told him she wasn't going to leave without him either. I thought it was the sweetest thing, and it made me start realizing how I could show kindness to the people in my own life.

I think it's very important to show the people around you that you care for them, even if it's by doing something very simple like giving them a hug or asking them how their day went. I also think it's good to take the time to share kindness with others, even if you don't know them. During the holidays there are many people out there who don't get to see their family, don't receive gifts, or don't have enough to eat. Taking the time to do simple acts of kindness like smiling at people on the street, wishing happy holidays to people in your class, or donating to the local shelters will not only make others feel a little bit more cheer, but I guarantee it will warm your heart too.

The couple at the airport made me realize it's not always about yourself, and although I know I can be a selfish person at times, I have to remember to think about everyone else's needs at the same time. Life isn't meant to be spent selfishly and you'll live a happier existence if you spread joy to others. Recently there was an event on Chapman's campus that helped me recognize the privilege that I have of going to college, having a happy family, and everything else that I don't realize others are missing. Everyone deserves to have happiness and love during the holiday season (and year round!), and sometimes it's hard to remember that others may not have it as great as you do.

p.s. Sorry this post is a little gushy, I just think everyone deserves to have a wonderful holiday!

My muse-INGS

Crav-ing

Starbucks Carmel Brulee Latte
I don't know what it is about the Starbucks holiday drinks, but when they come out I become obsessed with going to Starbucks as much as possible. Ever since I tried the Carmel Brulee Latte about 2 years ago I've loved it, and can't get enough! The frap version is also good if you want something cold!

Wear-ing

Loft Leggings
I feel like I don't wear anything else anymore when it comes to pants. These leggings are so comfortable and form fitting that I can wear anything with them and still look put together. Plus they're thicker than normal leggings and will keep your warm during these next few months!

Listen-ing

Taylor Swift's 1989
I haven't always been a huge fan of Taylor, especially with her country stuff, but everything that played on the radio I enjoyed. I decided to listen to 1989 after hearing from some friends that it wasn't like her usual stuff, and loved it so much. I've had the album on repeat for the last couple weeks. Good job T Swift!

Obsess-ing

ihavethisthingwithfloors Instagram
What a simple instagram idea to capture your feet and the floor you stand on. This instagram is full of these posts, and honestly I'm not too sure why I love it so much. Maybe it's because sometimes we're all too busy to notice the beautiful details that are around us, including floors.

Juliana's Boutique

I recently became a representative for a wonderful store named Juliana's Boutique. I found them through Instagram and fell in love with their stuff (and their prices!!). I wanted to share with you a couple of my favorite pieces that I found from the store and encourage you to go check them out!

Don't these two vests just mirror the ones from J.Crew? I'm always on the look out for the less expensive version of what I want to buy, and I think these are great double! They have more colors and patterns in the store and I'm just slightly obsessed with them.

My absolute favorite thing at Juliana's right now though is this sweater. I have a real addiction to sweaters and this is definitely going in my closet. It's so preppy and great for layering, in the photo they paired it with a striped long sleeve tee and just look how cute it is. And you can never go wrong with an anchor symbol, I feel like the nautical look is always in.

Look at this classic skirt for fall. Yes, it's already December, but hey, put some tights under this, add a sweater, stick some boots on and you've got yourself a warm outfit! One of my favorite colors is forest green and it's a color that always sticks around during the colder seasons. How adorable would this be with a red christmas sweater for a holiday party?!

I. love. this. scarf. I'm a huge sucker for scarves, and even though I totally own too many I just keep buying more. This scarf is so cuddly and warm and bright, perfect for winter! Big scarves are very much the trend this year, and it's such a basic item to add to your wardrobe. This scarf would go great with any plain sweater or tee that you want to dress up or just to keep yourself cozy if you catch a chill. Here are some other big scarves that I love right now! One // Two // Three

Another designer dupe! This dress is a brighter white version of a Kate Spade dress from a while back!(It even says in the description that it was inspired by Kate Spade!) You can never go wrong with a simple black and white dress, especially at this price! You could wear this to brunch with girlfriends, a holiday party, date night, or really whenever!

Okay, I lied, this is my favorite one. Stripes are such a staple in my wardrobe and the pop of pink is just to die for. Also, can I just make a comment about how great the model's legs are? How does she get them to look so perfect? Anyway, back to the dress, it's something that could be dressed up or dressed down and really worn anywhere. It doesn't look like much of a winter dress, but I'm sure I'll figure something out. :)

Those are my favorites on the site right now and I hope you check out Juliana's! They only have one store currently, but everything in their store is available for purchase on their website! Also, my readers can use the code thatcollegiategirl at checkout to get 10% off your purchase of full priced items! Yay! The code doesn't expire so you can use it multiple times on any occasion. This is the perfect place to do some last minute gift shopping (for friends or just for yourself!). Happy shopping!

Let me know what your favorite pieces are from Juliana's Boutique!

Holiday Gift Guide: Girls

Maybe it's because I'm a girl, but I feel like there are so many more options for us ladies during the holiday season. This is the second and final part of my holiday gift guide series, but if you guys have any requests for other specific people in your life, feel free to send me an email and I'll help you out as best as I can! My favorites here are the Naked Palette (I use it every day!), the Puffer Vest, and the Monogrammed Weekender!

Some other ideas:
A Starbucks card // Personalized Mug
Tory Burch Boots // Her favorite movie(s)

Holiday Gift Guide: Guys

In my opinion, guys are the hardest to get gifts for. It takes me forever to find something just right, so I've attempted to find as many presents that the men in your life will enjoy. I've tried to keep them at lower prices, but included some items that you might want to splurge on! I know there's a good amount here, but my favorites are the knitted beanie, the Michael Kors watch, and the Bean boots!

Some other ideas:
Phone case // A bottle/case of his favorite drink

Holiday Decorating For Your Small Space

Dorm rooms are not exactly the place where you can go all out on decorating for the holidays. Although we won't actually be at the dorms during the holidays, the weeks before are still a festive time, and coming home to a place that feels cheery is exactly what I need when finals are stressing me out. I was recently at the mall and saw some of the most adorable decorations that would give any small dorm or apartment a ton of holiday spirit. I thought I would pick out some of my favorite decorations that I've come across, and also some ideas on Pinterest that I found inspiring!

Mini Christmas Trees: These come in a couple colors, but I personally prefer the red, the pink, and the blue. They're small enough that you can keep one of them on a desk without it taking up too much space, and they give a nice pop of color to any room.

Snowflake Lights: Although I love normal twinkle and christmas lights a lot, this is a classic twist on them. Of course these are a little dangly, so if you have pictures all over the walls it would probably be best to get the regular lights so you don't create a fire hazard.

Pinterest Finds

Popsicle Stick Snowflake: Building on the snowflake theme, here's a snowflake made from popsicle sticks, paint, and glitter! This would be such an easy craft to make, and it would look great on the outside of your door with a nice colorful ribbon on one of those handy dandy command hooks.

Pearl Ornament: All you need to do is buy a cheap ornament, some faux pearls from your local craft store, and hot glue them on! You could even make a bunch and give them out to friends for their christmas trees. I think this is probably my favorite thing on this list, it's so pretty and easy to make!

Glitter Canvas: Again, another easy craft! Grab a holiday image, trace it onto a canvas, and cover it with glitter.

Let me know some of your favorite holiday finds or crafts!

November Favorites

I'm currently in Lake Tahoe for Thanksgiving break so I'm finally enjoying some cold weather! I can't wait for the rest of the holiday season! People have been putting up christmas lights and I'm so excited to be home for my winter break in a couple of weeks. Also the roommates and I might get a small christmas tree for our apartment which makes me super happy! Here's what I've been loving this past month!

I asked for Ugg boots last Christmas since I always used to borrow my sister's old knock-off ones. I ended up getting the classic tall in chestnut and use them all the time, especially during the winter! The fur on the inside is soft and warm and they are just so darn comfortable.

Although I don't actually own this, I'm a big fan of Kate Spade wallets. I saw this one both in Nordstroms and at my local Kate Spade store, and debated buying it multiple times. The only thing that stopped me was the fact that I already have a Kate Spade wallet that is in no way in need of replacing.

I love this dress. I bought it a couple weeks ago and am wearing it to my sorority's semi-formal in a couple days. When I first saw it I thought it was Kate Spade, but it surprisingly wasn't! The jewels at the top are so colorful and there's no stress about finding a matching necklace (although with black and white it's hard to go wrong). It's very comfortable, short, but not drastically so, and the black ribbon at the waist is such a nice touch and draws you in at your narrowest point.

Four // Pistachios:

I've loved pistachios for as long as I can remember, but haven't had them in a long time. I came home for break and my mom had some in the pantry and I've just been snacking on them ever since!

I got a pedicure with my family while in Tahoe and they had this color. If glittering snow could be put into a color this would be it. I love textured polish and the textures within this one make the nail look even more shimmery and bright. I'll definitely be adding this polish to my collection and wearing it to the upcoming holiday parties!

Spotlight

I love being on break, but I know that school is coming back at full force with finals coming up. However, I had a great time with my family and am ready to kick myself into gear these next upcoming weeks! I don't think I'll be too stressed with finals as half of them are online or take home, so for now I'll just be counting down the days until my winter break!

Also, this isn't included in my spotlight, but I was introduced to a new donut place that has the best strawberry filled donuts! Normally I'm not a filled donut type person, but these are delicious! They're from Donut Dolly in Berkeley and the flavors change all the time, but I believe the strawberry jam one is a classic that they normally have. I also tried the mexican chocolate flavor, but the spice in it wasn't for me. If you find yourself in Berkeley (or Oakland!) with a craving for donuts, check'em out!

Now onto my spotlight!

Donald Duck Skeleton

I watched a bunch of cartoons when I was younger, and they always seemed to move in the most impossible ways. A man named Hyungkoo Lee decided that he would attempt to recreate some beloved characters and imagining what their skeletons would look like if they were actual animals. This is such an interesting thing to me because whenever I think of cartoons I think of real animals with an exaggerated twist to them. I love the Donuld Duck skeleton above, but my favorite out of the ones I've seen has been Goofy!

This girl is 13 years old and she's learning how to train a giant golden eagle to hunt. What was I doing at 13? Watching a bunch of romantic comedies and complaining that I had too much geometry homework, probably. She is believed to be the only girl in the world who uses the eagle hunting technique, which is amazing. The people of western Mongolia are the only ones who use this type of technique to gather food. The pictures of her with the eagle are so powerful and I can just feel the connection between them.

If you haven't seen Jimmy Kimmel's Mean Tweets series yet, please go watch them all right now. All of them are really funny, but normally there's that one truly hilarious tweet in each video that makes me laugh like no other. My favorite ones in #8 would have to be the Chris Pratt and Adam Sandler ones!

I'll just let you watch this, it's adorable.

I think this guy, whoever he is, is hilarious. All the english teachers that I've known have a great sense of humor, and this guy is no exception. My favorite part is not only did he comment on basically everything, but he gave it a grade!

I would love to see anything you guys found interesting or funny!

40 Things I'm Thankful For (As A College Student)

Thanksgiving is coming up within the next week, and I wanted to write down a list of what I'm grateful for as of right now. Normally this is a time to think about friends and family, but this list is a bit more specific and leans towards students and what I see in my daily life. Hope you can relate to some of these, or even if you can't, I'd love to hear what you're thankful for!

1. Thanksgiving break, or really any break from school to be honest.
2. Coming home and seeing my pets get excited.
3. Professors that cancel assignments and/or tests.
4. Emails telling you your class was canceled (especially your classes before 10am!)
5. Chipotle. I'm pretty sure I don't need an explanation here.
6. Coffee, or in my case, iced coffee for the days when you need an extra boost of energy.
7. Naps, for when said coffee wears off.
8. Roommates you can tell anything to.
9. University dining dollars, in my case panther bucks, that make you feel like you aren't actually spending money.
10. Your mattress pad(s) because without it your back would be killing you.
11. Netflix, your one and only true love.
12. The days when cold weather starts to hit and you can finally dress in cute layers!
13. Puppies on campus as stress relievers for finals week.
14. Leggings and yoga pants.
15. Instagram, so you can share all your cool college adventures, or lack there of...
16. Starbucks holiday drinks, my favorite is the Creme Brulee Latte.
17. Yik Yak and all the weird things you find on there.
18. Sleeping in on the weekend.
19. Binge-watching tv shows and movies with friends.
20. Skyping with your parents.
21. Grocery coupons.
22. Any coupons really.
23. Speaking of coupons, those Victoria's Secret free underwear coupons.
24. That friend who has their own Costco membership and lets you tag along with them.
25. The samples at Costco.
26. Holiday twinkle lights that your dorm doesn't allow, but you probably have anyway.
27. Candles that are also against the rules, but most likely are hidden somewhere in your room.
28. Curves on tests.
29. When your professor drops your lowest quiz grade.
30. Hugging your family when you finally see them again.
31. Getting to bring laundry home so you don't have to do it yourself.
32. Easy classes that give your GPA the boost you need.
33. Snapchat
34. Oversized sweaters and sweatshirts.
35. Late nights wandering around campus with friends.
36. When someone gives you a ride to the airport so you don't have to pay for a taxi.
37. When campus restaurants memorize your order (maybe that's a bad thing...oops).
38. Staying in pajamas all day when you don't have class.
39. Relaxing when you're finally done with midterms.
40. Did I mention a break from school?

Cafe Lucca

I recently went to one of my favorite restaurants near Chapman: Cafe Lucca. Last year I won a gift certificate there from a costume contest with the university's Italian club, and I realized that I hadn't spent all of it yet! So my friend Steph and I went over to get some of their famous gelato after classes.

My favorite thing about Cafe Lucca (besides the food, obviously) is their entryway. The doors are so elegant and inviting, and it just looks even better with the holiday decor set up!

Also take a look at that ceiling! All the little stores here in orange are pretty old, so they all have these little details that I just love.

Just look at all that gelato, oh my god it was the hardest decision of my life choosing which one to get. The picture doesn't even show all the options there were!! You also have unlimited tasting options (or maybe you don't, but I'm pretty sure one time I sampled like six of them...), and although you really can't go wrong with any flavor, this just helps ensure you'll get one you'll enjoy.

I ended up getting the Berry Almond Muffin flavor (left) and Steph (pictured above the gelato) got the Stracciatella (essentially italian chocolate chip) flavor. I loved mine and Steph seemed pretty happy with hers too. Believe it or not, we each got the smallest size, could you imagine what the large size would be?!

If you ever find yourself in the Old Town Orange area, stop by Cafe Lucca for some amazing gelato!! (And pay me a visit!)

Leggings Sale!

My favorite leggings are currently on sale for 40% off! In fact, everything right now at Loft is on sale with the coupon code SHAREIT. I love these leggings because they are on the thicker side, they are the perfect length for tucking into boots, and the waistline is also a bit thicker so they won't roll down on you at any point in the day. I highly recommend any of Loft's leggings for keeping you warm during the upcoming months!!

What's In My Bag? School Days

I always love seeing the what's in my bag posts, mostly because I'm nosey, but also because I like to see if there is something that I'm totally forgetting to carry around with me. I never really hold too much in my regular bag since I'm at school 5 days a week and then only switch over my wallet to a small bag and that's it. But I figured I'll show you what's in my bag that I use for school! I got my bag from a small store in Lake Tahoe that I honestly don't remember the name of, but it can go from a purse to a backpack in seconds! It's got a lot of room so I can hold all the books and notebooks I need for class plus all my other necessities!

Wallet: It isn't included in the picture because I forgot to put it in there, but it's my most important item. As I would think it would be for most people? It's a Kate Spade Cobble Hill Stacy and is the same exact color of the bag (yay matching!) but is no longer available, although I found a similar one (currently on sale!!!) in the same color! I transfer it to every bag I use and always have it with me. I would be extremely lost without it. My school ID is always in there, and that's how I get in and out of my dorm, how I get food on campus, etc!

Notebook: I use 2 three subject notebooks which is great since I am taking five classes at the moment. I  only have max three classes in a day so just bring one of the notebooks with me and I'm set. I love the Five Star ones because they give ample note taking space and also have pockets at each separator.

Textbook: In the picture I have my Italian textbook because it's really the only book I have to take to class. All my other books stay in my room, but we're required for language classes to have the book with us nearly every class. Let me tell you, it's heavy and awful.

Pencil Case: I've always used makeup pouches in place of a pencil case because they have better designs by far. Also, the lining on the inside of a makeup case protects my bag from getting destroyed if a pen happens to leak. Pencil cases are definitely not as protective on that part. I got mine from target, and I'm loving this one that they have right now.

Sunglasses: I actually got the ones pictured for free when I tested them out as a new product. They're from Spy Optic and have "happy lenses" that use the sun's rays to give you a more positive attitude. I'm not sure if I feel happier wearing them or not, but they are definitely great for the Southern California sun and for driving around. I tend to get blinded by the sun any time I get in my car, so these are lifesavers. These are super high quality and durable and if you're looking for a new pair of sunglasses I would recommend them!

iPhone: Obviously. I used my phone to take the picture, but took off the case so you would see that it was included. Again, another necessity. Unfortunately it's no longer available.

Chapstick: I'm so addicted to applying chapstick it's ridiculous. A couple years back I was introduced to the Lemon Lip Balm from Bath and Body Works and loved it. Every so often (like right now!) they do a buy 2 get 1 free for them, and I stock up! My parents also give a bunch of them to me for christmas. Seriously amazing stuff.

Headphones: I love skull candy headphones. I normally find them at TJ Maxx or Marshalls for pretty cheap, and get them every two years or so. They're one of the few earphones that don't hurt my ears. I'm one of those people who can't use apple headphones!

Nail clippers: I always seem to get hang nails at the worst time, and all throughout high school I carried a pair in my backpack. I decided to do the same in college, and it's one of the most useful things in my bag.

Band Aids: Just a good idea, you'll never know when you or someone else will need one.

Hair Ties: Again, you never know if you or a friend will need/want one, so it's best to just carry a few around.

Makeup Remover: Sometimes you have those moments where your makeup gets smudged or your eye waters and mascara runs down your cheek. In those moments it's good to have a small makeup wipe to clean up those little mistakes quickly!

My Big's Paddle!

If you are in a sorority, you most likely know that paddles are a tradition. Well for the last two weeks I have been working on my paddle for my big and I finally got to give it to her on Wednesday night! I was so proud of what I had done that I was very sad to have it leave my possession. However, she loved it so much and I know that she will take good care of it, and all my effort was definitely worth seeing the smile on her face!

My big loves rhinestones and cheetah print, so I wanted to find a way to work those two together without it being overdone. So on the front side that's what I did! The back is supposed to be a wine bottle (although the pink is a tad bit too bright, but oh well) because, well, my big likes wine! I'm so proud that I could be this crafty!! Lots of love to you big!!!

I would love to see your paddle if you're in a sorority! Send a picture to me via email at theclassicbrunette@gmail.com or comment a link if it's online anywhere! I'm definitely posting mine on my Pinterest

October Favorites

Boy am I late on this post! School has been super hectic, but I'm trying to be on the blog as much as I can! Anyway, on to last months favorites! This one is very halloween themed, but hey isn't everything in October?

One // Pumpkins

My apartment had a total of 7 pumpkins this year! It's not really a specific item like I usually do for this list, but I felt compelled to add it. I seriously love all things fall, but pumpkins are basically at the top of that list.

It isn't officially October till I've watched Hocus Pocus. It's my tradition every year, and it's my favorite Halloween movie! It's a total classic and if you haven't seen it already you definitely have to!! Even though it's now the post Halloween season it's a must see.

I love this bag! First recommended to me by The College Prepster, I bought it the second I saw it. Last year I had trouble finding a bag that was big enough to take on weekend trips where I could fit clothes, toiletries, my laptop, school books, and anything else. I saw this bag and it's size and automatically knew that I would make good use of it. The weekend before last I actually drove home (8 hours btw!) and used this and fit everything I needed with extra space leftover! It has a really durable shoulder strap so that you can have free hands when carrying it around. Plus, it's monogrammed and how cute is that?

The one in the picture is actually off season, but they sell an Apple Crisp one that smells the exact same. I have one and spray it all the time just to make my room smell like an apple orchard. I find that most other room sprays like febreeze come off smelling fake and chemically altered, but this stuff is amazing. I would use it as perfume if I could (and I kind of have!).

I'm kind of obsessed with everything Lauren Conrad is doing right now. Her style is so sweet and chic at the same time, she just got married, and she's just on top of everything. This jewelry line of hers is girly, simple, and classy. I have the bracelet pictured above (only $10.50!) and love it! I'm always on the search for new jewelry that is pretty but at a good price. I will definitely be back at Kohls to go searching for some more great jewelry of hers!

Easy Ham and Cheese Croissants

My dad works next to a bakery, and sometimes he brings home little treats for me and my sister. My favorite thing from there is the ham and cheese croissants. Now, since I'm a 7 hour drive away from said croissants, I get a craving for them that I just can't seem to fix. I decided to try my luck at baking, and it went surprisingly well! Since I have a college sized kitchen, meaning not a lot of counter space and no oven, I had to use store bought croissant dough, but it tastes great all the same!

What you'll need:

-Pillsbury Big and Buttery Crescent Rolls (or whichever brand you prefer, these are just bigger than the normal ones so they fit more when you roll them up!)
-Ham of your preference (I got Black Forest ham from the deli section, but the lunch meat ham could work just as nicely)
-Cheese of your preference (I got medium cheddar)

Start by putting a slice of ham on the unrolled croissants making sure it covers the whole length of the dough. Then add as much cheese as you want to the middle of the croissant.

Next roll them up (loosely!) and pop them in the oven (or in my case, mini convection oven) for the amount of time and temperature listed on the croissant roll instructions! It may take a little longer than that to brown the tops because of the fillings, so adjust by checking in on them every couple of minutes.

This is an extremely simple recipe that took no time at all! These croissants would be great to serve at a party, as a snack, or to make with kids if you're babysitting! Although they weren't as delicious or homemade tasting as the bakery cravings I was having, they definitely hit the spot and I would absolutely make them again!

Midterm Madness!

I have 5 midterms next week, so I just wanted to make a quick post about how I won't really be blogging until next weekend when all my tests are done.

I'll definitely still be active on twitter, instagram, and pinterest since they are where I tend to take my study breaks. So if you want to catch up with what I'm doing when I'm not blogging, or just want to see me rant about tv shows or how much I hate studying, that's where I'll be at!

For everyone else who also has midterms right now, good luck! Don't stress yourself out, and always remember to pace yourself by taking a break every now and then!

Parents Weekend

My sister came down for parents weekend so that I wouldn't feel left out with all the other family members around. It was really great to see her and hang out since it's been about a month and a half since I've been home. The biggest part of our weekend was going out to Disneyland, but other than that we spent our time watching movies and shopping!

Look how cute this Mickey Mouse Jack-O-Lantern is! And you know, my sister and I are pretty adorable too. My sister really wanted to visit Disneyland when all the Halloween decorations were up, and it was definitely worth it! I went last year, but the park looked even better this time around.

We had to get some sort of food (besides the delicious fried chicken at The Plaza Inn) so we decided on pretzels. Mine (right) was filled with sweet cream cheese, and it's something I highly recommend to anyone who visits the park!

Look at how pretty the sky was! Such a perfect way to end the night! Since it was one of the nights for Mickey's Halloween Party we had to leave at 7, but they started putting up all these cute night decorations at around 6.

Other than Disneyland, when we went shopping I got some great things for fall that will hopefully make a great outfit post in the near future! It hasn't exactly been fall weather in Southern California, and I haven't been able to break out the sweaters and long pants like I had hoped. Hopefully within the next couple days it will get cooler and I can start wearing my favorite clothes!
